Around 3000 people attended!! They’ve created a toolkit and songbook for all of us to utilize so we can step right into the wave they’ve so beautifully created and ride it right here in the Fox Cities to SING and raise our voices locally! \n\n\n\nThis project will take a village! But I developed a tendency to tell myself I had to look a certain way while moving my body to music. My children\, now 9 and 10\, have taught and reminded me how to let the music take over and flow through the body\, allowing movement to come without thought or judgement. This was becoming easier to do at home with them\, but I felt the need to experience this feeling with others.  \n\n\n\nI attended my first ecstatic dance at Being Collective last January. I was very nervous. I sat in the back for the first few songs trying to summon the courage to get up and move. I almost left as my fear was getting the best of me. But I stayed and did the scary thing because deep down I knew I had to stop taking myself so seriously and just flow. It felt so damn good\, not only to dance but to do something uncomfortable. That is where growth happens. Dancing nourishes me\, dancing with others energizes me. I love creating playlists to provide an experience for people whether it be in my group fitness classes\, a movement meditation by the river\, or an ecstatic dance at Being Collective. The music provides the journey\, and participants feel\, move\, and weave through the soundscapes freely.
